Assistant Director of Counseling and Wellness (Temporary)
Responsibilities
- Provides consultation, crisis intervention, and counseling service to students and community
- Maintains a part-time case load of individual counseling sessions
- Serves on the Care Team
- Led staff meetings as needed when the director is unavailable
- Establishes and maintains community resources and mental health referrals
- Assists director with clinical supervision for counselors
- Oversees 522 Grant
- Provides supervision/consultation to wellness staff and project coordinator
- Consults with and advises faculty and administrative staff regarding mental health issues affecting the educational process
- Attends/assists with college functions of general importance to the student body or college (e.g., orientation, commencement, etc.)
- Plans and facilitates events on campus
- Works collaboratively with others to provide ongoing training to students and staff regarding mental health issues (i.e. residence life, safety and security, faculty, etc.)
- Aids in recruitment, selection, and supervision of graduate interns and new staff
- Coordination of counseling schedules and management of clinical documentation
Requirements
Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of professional counseling experience.
Experience working with diverse populations.
Valid Washington State Driver’s License.
Current CPR certification.
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of counseling theories and techniques.
Knowledge of mental health disorders and treatment options.
Knowledge of student affairs and academic support systems.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to travel as required.
Qualifications
Experience in higher education setting preferred.
Experience with grant writing and administration.
Experience with crisis intervention and trauma-informed care.
Experience with group therapy facilitation.
Experience with program evaluation and assessment.
Experience with data management and reporting.
