Assistant Director of Wellness

About the role

The Assistant Director of Nursing- RN oversees a team of resident care aides, medication aides, and LPN supervisors in the Wellness/Resident Services Department of a luxury Assisted Living Community. The role requires managing staff, handling emergencies, and interacting with families during business hours.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staff of resident care aides, medication aides, and LPN supervisors
• Provide resident assistance with ADLs
• Administer resident medications
• Supervise staff
• Handle emergencies
• Interact with families visiting the community during business hours
• Perform duties in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Ensure residents' safety and comfort needs are met
• Occasional participation in assisting residents with ADLs

Requirements

• Staff supervisory and medication oversight experience, preferably in an Assisted Living, Nursing Home, or similar environment
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ staff supervisory experience in a geriatric setting
• Strong management and supervisory skills
• Active RN License with the capability to provide excellence in the quality of life to residents
• Experience with Assessments, Care Planning, and Re-Assessments
• Experience with Dementia and/or Alzheimer’s patients
• Caring, reliable, ethical, observant, understanding of MARs and doctors’ orders
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize and multitask under pressure
