Assistant Director of Clinical Training, Clinical Psychology

About the role

The Illinois School of Professional Psychology (ISPP) at National Louis University (NLU) in Chicago, IL is seeking an exceptional practitioner-scholar for the Full-Time Assistant Director of Clinical Training, Clinical Psychology position. This is a 50% administrative/50% teaching, twelve-month, full-time position within the APA-Accredited Clinical Psychology doctoral program.

Responsibilities

• Aid the Director of Clinical Training and Associate Director of Clinical Training with practicum site and supervisor screening, selection, and development
• Prepare students for practicum applications and placement, including reviewing CVs and cover letters and helping students identify appropriate practicum sites
• Manage training-related data
• Participate in regular Association of Chicagoland Externship and Practicum Training (ACEPT) meetings
• Oversee the Clinical Capstone sequence
• Teach 12 credits per year; develop syllabi and teaching materials related to courses taught
• Serve as a supervisor for doctoral dissertations and serve on dissertation committees
• Participate in program assessment, student learning assessment, curriculum review, academic admissions processes, and other program activities
• Engage in scholarly pursuits

Qualifications

• PhD/PsyD from an APA-Accredited program
• Licence-eligibility in Illinois; psychology licensure within the first year of employment is required
• Passion for teaching and experience in graduate clinical education and training
• Strong ability to mentor graduate students, particularly non-traditional students
• Adherence to the highest level of professional conduct and ethical standards
• Demonstrated participation in scholarly and/or professional activities
• Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning
• Professional experience in APA-Accredited practitioner-scholar academic or training a plus
