Assistant Director of Clinical Services

About the role

The Assistant Director Clinical Services is an RN responsible for assisting the Director of Clinical Services in overseeing nursing care in the Health Center. This position involves supervising direct nursing care, administering care, conducting rounds, coordinating care, and participating in various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Supervises direct nursing care in the Health Center.
• Administers direct nursing care when more than routine care is indicated.
• Makes routine rounds to ensure proper care and a safe, clean resident environment.
• Affirms accuracy and completeness of medical records.
• Collaborates, conducts, and documents the MDS, resident care plans, and conferences in the absence of the MDS nurse.
• Supervises nursing personnel on all shifts.
• Participates in staffing, scheduling, counseling, orientation, and evaluation of nursing staff.
• Assists with orientation of nursing personnel.
• Participates in family/resident counseling.
• Responds to emergency calls, as necessary.
• Functions in the capacity of DON in his/her absence.
• Affirms effective communication with other shifts and departments as it relates to resident care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Unencumbered Registered Nurse with a current clear FL state license.
• Two years’ experience in geriatric nursing and/or B.S. Degree in nursing.
• Participation in professional organizations, dealing primarily in geriatrics preferred.
• Minimum of two years nursing administration experience, preferably in a long-term care setting.
• NADONA certification a plus.
• Solid computer proficiency.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Pay

$115,000 per year
