Assistant Director, IT Operations

About the role

This position ensures maximum value from applications and aligns with Application Management standards. It involves leading teams on projects to improve process performance and deliver superior service to bank customers. The role can be performed remotely within the bank's operational area.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Service/Support and Quality: Provide quality application support to internal customers on all digital systems.
  • Quality Assurance: Own and manage end-user requests using the established work order management system to ensure service transparency.
  • Service Availability/Integrity: Ensure maximum system uptime and escalate issues internally or to vendors as needed.
  • Data Integrity: Maintain data integrity and assist in ensuring it is maintained.
  • Technical Support: Keep applications current with vendor releases, patches, and other requirements, and manage interfaces and daily production activities.
  • Compliance: Ensure systems comply with business, audit, and regulatory needs, and manage application Central Control Records.
  • Risk Management: Manage and maintain disaster recovery plans and identify risks and opportunities for senior management.
  • Security: Secure customer data, administer application-level security, and manage role definitions and processes.
  • Training: Ensure knowledge bases are up-to-date and staff is cross-trained, maintaining procedures in documented form.
  • Efficiency/Effectiveness: Guarantee systems operate at peak efficiency and utilize features fully, seeking ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Strategic Planning: Assess current state, opportunities, and recommend enhancements to increase application value, and evaluate solutions for strategic fit.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Over five (5) years of related management experience.
  • Prior experience in a similar role at a financial institution, including merger/acquisition integration activities, is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or related field is preferred.
