Responsibilities

  • Oversee and mentor technology support staff responsible for desktop support, classroom technology, audiovisual services, and end-user support.
  • Oversee the daily delivery of technology services, ensuring responsive customer support and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with the software education group to ensure applications run successfully on Temple University (TU) standard hardware.
  • Collaborate with university departments, health system partners, vendors, and external service providers to support technology initiatives.
  • Assist in planning and implementing classroom technology upgrades, equipment refresh initiatives, and instructional technology improvements.
  • Participate in operational planning, process improvement initiatives, and technology projects supporting the School of Medicine.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures, documentation, and service standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve technology services, operational workflows, and the customer experience.
  • Monitor operational performance and recommend improvements that enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Exercise independent judgment in resolving operational issues while escalating strategic or institution-wide matters to the Director as appropriate.
  • Assist the Director in operational planning and technology roadmap initiatives.
  • Coordinate technology support for special events (e.g., Match Day, Board of Visitors meetings, alumni events, town halls, symposiums, and special lectures).
  • Assist in the coordination and planning of technology needs for new or expanding LKSOM locations, including participation in facilities planning discussions and vendor engagement.
  • Assist with special technology projects as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in IT support, operations, or a related field, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
