About the role

Chartwells Higher Education is hiring an energetic and growth‑minded Assistant Director of Dining Services at the University of Houston. In this key leadership role, you will assist with the day‑to‑day food service operations of a campus dining hall, manage and lead a team of associates, and be responsible for talent development, client relationships, profitability, and supporting financial goals in an assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Chef and management team to create nutritious, top‑quality food.
• Implement new culinary programs in conjunction with marketing and culinary teams.
• Maintain excellent relationships with the client.
• Manage, train, and develop associates.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of food‑service supervisory or lead experience.
• Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health‑care, or related food‑service operations.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Financial experience and business‑acumen skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet applications.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
