About the role
The Assistant Director of Vocational provides supervision, oversight and management to The Arc Gloucester’s Day Programs, as well as several Family Support Services (FSS) programs. This position supports The Arc Gloucester's mission of empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families to achieve their highest potential through advocacy, education, and quality services.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, oversee, and manage The Arc Gloucester’s Day Programs and Family Support Services (FSS) programs.
- Support the mission of empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
- Develop and innovate quality programming and expand the scope of services offered.
- Grow and diversify opportunities within 4+ day programs and smaller community-based programs.
- Support changes in the Supported Employment - Small Group (aka Crew Labor) day program and other vocational opportunities.
- Empower staff to meet the needs of the programs.
Requirements
- Experience in managing day programs and Family Support Services (FSS) programs.
- Knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities and their support needs.
- Ability to develop and implement innovative programming.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Experience in expanding and diversifying program offerings.
- Understanding of supported employment and small group labor models.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Special Education, Psychology, Social Work).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing day programs and Family Support Services (FSS) programs.
- Experience in developing and implementing innovative programming.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Experience in expanding and diversifying program offerings.
- Experience in supported employment and small group labor models.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

- A salary range from $53,000 – $62,000.

Schedule
