About the role
The Assistant Director for Business and Administrative Operations supports business office functions, financial processes and reconciliation, and coordinates employment and onboarding processes for student and hourly employees, assists with departmental organizational and personnel management. The Assistant Director serves as a key resource for department staff by assisting with training, ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures, and promoting operational efficiency through process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support Athletics Business Office operations, including administration of Coupa Expense Management System.
- Cook up, review, and reconcile travel expenses through the Coupa Expense Management System.
- Serve as the primary departmental trainer and resource for Coupa Expense users, providing guidance and troubleshooting support.
- Aid the Assistant Athletic Director for Business Operations in administering the Teamworks Wallet, including per diem distribution, reconciliation of expenses, and process management.
- Collaborate with business office staff and athletics personnel to identify and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Athletics Department and the UNT System Travel Desk regarding travel policies, procedures, and issue resolution.
- Oversee employment processes for student and hourly positions, including creating, reviewing, and processing position requests and job postings.
- Cook up recruitment and pre-employment activities, including applicant tracking, candidate disposition, and hiring documentation.
- Ensure timely completion of onboarding requirements and university-mandated training for student and hourly employees.
- Aid in the development, review, and maintenance of position descriptions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage Graduate Assistant and Intern programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of NCAA, conference, and university policies and regulations.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Skills.
