About the role
Valley Springs Behavioral Health Hospital is operated jointly with Lifepoint Behavioral Health and Baystate Health. We are dedicated to providing exceptional care and prioritizing the well-being of our patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Supports the delivery of high-quality behavioral health services by ensuring comprehensive clinical assessments and appropriate level-of-care determinations.
- Oversees the intake and assessment process for walk-in and telephone inquiries.
- Completes initial psychiatric evaluations and collaborates with physicians and clinical staff to determine appropriate treatment recommendations.
- Serves as a liaison between patients, families, providers, and referral sources, guiding individuals through the admission process and reducing barriers to care.
- Supports the daily operations of the assessment and referral team, including staff coaching and development, scheduling, compliance oversight, and maintaining strong relationships with referral partners.
- Assists the Assessment Director with reporting, regulatory compliance, and ensuring adherence to all state and federal standards.
Requirements
- A current state license in social work, counseling, or a related field.
- RN licensure may be required based on state of practice guidelines.
- Previous management experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working in assessment for chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients.
- Strong clinical assessment skills.
- Current unencumbered clinical social work, counselor, or RN license or per state requirements.
- Valid driver's license and a favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), along with proof of insurance when using own auto.
- Basic Life Support certification and Handle with Care is required within 30 days of hire.

- Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field required or licensed degree per state of practice guideline.

Pay
$91,977.60 - $124,176.00 per year.
