Assistant Department Manager Key Carrier (Tile)
About the role
This position trains and develops Product Sales Specialists and ensures customers receive exceptional customer service and product information. Key responsibilities include supporting store operations, managing staff, and maintaining store standards.
Responsibilities
- Act and work in a manner consistent with company core values
- Open and close the store in an effective manner
- Complete managerial responsibilities such as storage buy audits, markdown approvals, overrides, and cash office functions
- Ensure store presentation standards are achieved and maintained
- Follow established guidelines and procedures for loss prevention and risk management
- Report Workers Compensation and General Liability claims
- Lead morning huddles, execute Power Hours, and function as a CARE Manager
- Provide direction to Product Sales Specialists for high-quality customer service
- Complete product specialist certification courses
- Ensure merchandise and installation knowledge
- Communicate standard operating procedures to associates
- Complete industrial truck proficiency testing and certification
- Process merchandise to the showroom floor and validate product placement and pricing
- Greet customers and assist with product questions and selections
- Stock and tag merchandise displays as required
- Follow cash, check, and charge card acceptance procedures
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of customer service/sales experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment in managing a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Thorough understanding and compliance with company’s safe lifting practices
- Understanding of merchandise and installation
- Knowledgeable about standard operating procedures
- Proficient in industrial truck (forklift) proficiency testing and certification
- Ability to communicate inventory needs to management
- Ability to follow cash, check, and charge card acceptance procedures
