Assistant Department Manager (Installation Materials)

About the role

This position trains and develops Product Sales Specialists and ensures customers receive excellent customer service and product information.

Responsibilities

• Act and work in a manner consistent with company’s core values
• Demonstrate safe lifting practices and company philosophy
• Drive and teach retail basics (People, Position, Product, Presentation, Price, Promotion, Purchasing)
• Direct and assist in processing merchandise
• Communicate standard operating procedures to associates
• Complete industrial truck proficiency testing and certification
• Validate product placement and pricing
• Greet and assist customers with product questions
• Stock and tag merchandise displays
• Follow cash, check, and credit card acceptance procedures
• Answer the telephone according to guidelines

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year of customer service/sales experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding and compliance with safe lifting practices
• Basic knowledge of merchandise and installation
• Understanding of department merchandising, pricing, and organization
• Completion of product specialist certification courses
• Proficiency in using point of sale (POS) system
• Knowledge of cash, check, and credit card acceptance procedures

Pay

Pay Range: $18.50 - $25.60

Schedule

Store Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Pickup Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
