Assistant Department Manager (Installation Materials)
About the role
This position trains and develops Product Sales Specialists and ensures customers receive excellent customer service and product information.
Responsibilities
- Act and work in a manner consistent with company’s core values
- Demonstrate safe lifting practices and company philosophy
- Drive and teach the company's retail 'basic P’s'
- Provide direction to Product Sales Specialists for high-quality customer service
- Complete product specialist certification courses
- Ensure merchandise and installation knowledge
- Communicate departmental standards and changes
- Pass industrial truck proficiency testing and certification
- Communicate inventory needs to management
- Direct and assist merchandise processing
- Validate product placement and pricing
- Greet and assist customers with product questions and selections
- Process refunds and exchanges
- Follow cash, check, and credit card acceptance procedures
- Stock and tag merchandise displays
- Create price tags and merchandise signs
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of customer service/sales experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Thorough understanding and compliance with safe lifting practices and company policies
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

Compensation details are subject to change and may vary based on experience and qualifications.

Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Sunday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Pickup Hours: Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Sunday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Working Conditions
- Warehouse environment
- Moderate to noisy noise levels
- Physical demands: ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 60 pounds occasionally, and up to 20 pounds frequently, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Physical/Sensory Requirements
- Physical Work: Ability to exert 30 - 60 pounds of force occasionally, and or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Sensory Requirements: Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
