Job Description And Position Requirements

Penn State Scranton, a member of the Penn State University Athletic Conference, is accepting applications for a Part Time Assistant Cross Country Coach within the Department of Athletics.

Responsibilities

  • Practice preparation
  • Player development
  • Game day coaching
  • Recruiting
  • Supervising both player personnel under the head coach
  • Must be well versed in the sport of cross country with previous coaching experience preferred

Requirements

This position requires strict adherence to PSUAC, USCAA and NCAA Division III rules. All applications, cover letters and resumes must be submitted electronically.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Experience in coaching cross country
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Knowledge of NCAA and PSUAC regulations

Pay

The pay for this position is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The hours are primarily in-season with a requirement for recruiting in the off-season.

Background Checks/Clearances

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
