Job Description
Position: Part Time Assistant Coach of the Cross Country and Track and Field Team
Location: Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania
Organization: Penn State Schuylkill

General Responsibilities

  • Aid in practice and competition coaching.
  • Assist with the recruitment of academically qualified and skilled student-athletes.
  • Help arrange weekly practice schedules on the field.
  • Provide vision and leadership to create a positive team culture.
  • Offer feedback for the Director of Athletics to nominate and select weekly/season conference and national awards.
  • Support the development of opportunities for service activities and encourage participation in community service.

Education Required

  • High school diploma.

Work Experience Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
  • Coaching or playing experience at the high school level.

Skills Preferred

  • Colegiate coaching experience.
  • Proficient communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Able to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and staff.
  • Knowledge of USCAA and PSUAC student-athlete and institutional compliance rules and rules governing the play of various games.
  • Event and personnel management experience.

Background Checks/Clearances

  • PA State Police Criminal Background Check.
  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form.
  • Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

Additional Information

  • This position requires the operation of a motor vehicle as part of job duties.
  • A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
