About the role

This role supports and assists the Community Manager in overseeing and managing the financial and operational facets of the community. Responsibilities include accounting and bookkeeping tasks, preparing monthly close-out and financial reports, processing invoices, collecting rent and fees, completing bank deposits and reconciliations, and using property management software to track financial operations.

Responsibilities

  • Completes daily financial transactions, including collecting and posting rent, fees, and other payments, preparing bank deposits, reconciling accounts, and processing invoices and payables.
  • Operates property management software (Yardi/OneSite) to enter transactions, complete updates, and ensure system integrity.
  • Reviews resident files and accounting records to identify unpaid or late fees, communicates with residents about outstanding balances, and enforces lease terms to maximize revenue.
  • Reviews and submits vendor, contractor, and service provider invoices for payment, including reconciling work performed, obtaining approvals, and coding charges to the appropriate Chart of Account codes.
  • Follows company procedures for evictions, including proper notice requirements, representing the community in court hearings, and eviction proceedings.
  • Processes resident move-outs by reviewing lease terms, applying deposit and lease cancellation fees, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Promotes resident satisfaction and retention by addressing complaints, questions, and service issues in a timely manner.
  • Acts as on-site supervisor in the absence of the Community Manager, delegating tasks, coordinating maintenance, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Assists in managing client/owner relationships by conducting community tours, providing performance updates, and responding to owner requests.
  • May support leasing and marketing efforts by greeting prospects, gathering information, showing apartments, closing leases, and assisting with rental applications and credit verification.
  • For California: Reviews all completed move-in files prior to submission to the Community Manager for approval.

Pay

The hourly range for this role is $27.00 - $30.00. Many factors determine pay within this range, including business requirements, prior experience, current skills, and geographical location.

In addition to the base salary, this role may be eligible for weekly, monthly, or quarterly bonus programs.
