About the Role
The Assistant Community Manager plays a critical role in supporting and assisting the Community Manager in overseeing and managing the financial and operational facets of the community. This includes completing accounting and bookkeeping tasks, preparing monthly close-out and financial reports, processing invoices for payment, collecting rent and fees, completing bank deposits, and using property management software to record and report financial activities.
Responsibilities
- Collect and post rent, fees, and other payments, and prepare daily bank deposits.
- Process invoices and payables, including reconciling work performed or products purchased.
- Stay up to date on rent assistance policies and programs from federal, state, and local governing offices.
- Assist the leasing team with virtual and in-person apartment tours for prospects.
- Review and submit invoices from vendors, contractors, and service providers for payment.
- Process resident move-outs by reviewing lease terms, notice requirements, and processing dispositions in accordance with established procedures and legal requirements.
- Respond to resident questions, concerns, and requests in a timely manner to resolve service issues.
- Partner with the on-site office and marketing teams to create safe, socially distanced activities and events for residents.
- Act as the on-site supervisor in the absence of the Community Manager.
- Complete daily transactions and tasks related to the financial operation of the community using property management software (Yardi/OneSite).
- Review resident files and accounting records to determine unpaid or late fees, communicate with residents regarding outstanding balances, and enforce lease terms to maximize revenue.
- Follow the Company’s established procedures related to evictions, including proper notice requirements and representing the community in court hearings.
- Assist in managing the client/owner relationship by meeting with owners, conducting community tours, and providing updates on community performance.
- Support leasing and marketing efforts by greeting prospective residents, showing apartments, closing leases, and assisting with rental applications and credit verification.
- For California: Review all completed move-in files prior to submission to the Community Manager for approval.
Requirements
- Previous property management experience is required; fee management experience preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite; experience with Yardi/OneSite software is highly desired but not required.
- Financially savvy with experience in creating/adhering to budgets and fiscal reporting.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- High level of professionalism in both manner and dress.
- A high school diploma or equivalent and professional knowledge of business discipline are required.

Pay
The hourly range for this position is $26.75 - $28.75. Additional compensation may include weekly, monthly, or quarterly bonus programs based on individual and company performance.
