Assistant Community Manager - Brooking Square
About the role
Assistant Community Manager at Brooking Square Village Apartments & Townhomes (a premier class A 348-unit garden-style community located on the Cainhoy Peninsula) in Charleston, SC. Key member of the property operations team responsible for managing the property and on-site staff in the absence of the Community Manager, presenting the community to prospective residents, overseeing revenue and expenses, administering charges, maintaining accurate records, issuing notices, monitoring market trends, coordinating service requests, and delivering outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
- Manage the property and on-site staff in the absence of the Community Manager
- Tour and present the community to prospective residents and assist them in finding the right apartment home
- Manage the community’s revenue and expenses to ensure budget and financial guidelines are met under the direction of the Community Manager
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of bank deposits
- Administer late and non-sufficient check charges
- Maintain accurate resident records, post all rents, deposits and fees, and perform all A/P functions as directed by the Community Manager
- Issue appropriate notices (e.g., late payments, evictions, NSF checks)
- Monitor local market trends and update property comparables
- Report and follow up on service requests with the maintenance team; conduct service follow-up with residents
- Build strong working relationships with residents by providing outstanding customer service
Qualifications
- 2 to 4 years of related multifamily property management experience (preferred but not required)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience with property management software (Yardi) preferred
- Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Pay
$20.26 – $23.81 per hour (approximate; actual pay may vary based on experience, education, training, certifications, and other factors). Does not include commissions or bonuses.
Schedule
Full-time, day shift with weekend availability.
