About the role
The Morgan Group seeks a dedicated individual to join our team as a Community Assistant. This role involves assisting the Community Manager in managing daily operations and ensuring the highest level of professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to MORGAN’s Leasing and Marketing, Management and Operations, Maintenance, and Emergency Procedures manuals.
- Maintain office and resident files in a confidential and secure manner.
- Meet with the Maintenance Supervisor and other maintenance team members concerning service requests.
- Safeguard and assure all monies received on the community are properly deposited and entered into system.
- Supervise the leasing team in absence of the Community Manager.
- Maintain and encourage excellent resident relations.
- Monitor the timely completion of all service requests.
- Inspect market ready apartments to ensure quick turn times and are completed per the MORGAN standard.
- Manage the bookkeeping and rental collection.
- Assess move out condition of apartments and have a final account statement sent with the final disposition in a manner meeting the lease contract requirement.
- Charge for damages and fees when necessary and send to collection in a timely basis.
- Monitor the community for compliance to all Fair Housing and ADA laws.
- Afford the Community Manager to create and monitor the marketing for the community.
- Supervise the leasing team their tours and closing techniques.
- Maintain the resident renewal program set by the Community Manager.
- Create a sense of community with the residents and the community.
- Assist the Community Manager with the service team.
Requirements
- Will need to be on feet (33% to 100%).
- Will need to perform the following physical activities (50% to 100%).
- Constant need (100%) to receive or give instructions from/to residential management, communicate via telephone and in person with staff, residents, vendors, etc.
- Constant need (100%) to communicate either in writing to residents, staff, vendors, corporate and prospects.
- Ability to read, write and understand English.
- Frequent need (33%-50%) to see things clearly beyond arm’s reach.
- Occasional need (1%-33%) to respond to after hour emergencies.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, insurance and car registration if driving for business purposes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in property management or related field preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
