Assistant Community Manager

About the role

The Assistant Community Manager oversees the everyday operations and financial functions of the housing community under the supervision of the Community Manager. Key responsibilities include managing financial processes, personnel, leasing, maintenance, administrative tasks, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Post all payments and income accurately, timely, and efficiently.
• Process and reconcile daily account receivables.
• Monitor and follow up on bad debt, prepare late notices, contact residents and guarantors, and file evictions.
• Help the property meet budgeted revenues, expenses, and Net Operating Income.
• Post all charges to resident and non-resident accounts; bill back utilities where applicable.
• Maintain accurate and organized records; audit resident files.
• Walk units and post move-out charges, statements, and security deposit refunds.
• Screen, hire, train, coach, and develop onsite staff.
• Ensure staff compliance and consistency with Company policies and procedures.
• Implement marketing strategies and systems, deal with resident complaints, and develop resident retention programs.
• Show, lease, and move in prospective residents.
• Manage customer service, monitor maintenance staff, maintain property appearance, and ensure timely repairs.
• Affordability and Safety: Must have basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred or two years experience in the housing industry; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to understand and perform all onsite software functions; basic computer skills required.
• Must have basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.
• Physical Requirements: Regular/daily onsite attendance, standing or sitting for prolonged periods, communication, repetitive motions, assessing accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work, moving about to accomplish tasks, ascending/descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, step stools, and the like, moving self into different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, working in small and/or enclosed spaces, traversing flat and non-flat terrain, working in extremely low or high temperatures, working in outdoor environments such as precipitation and wind, being exposed to hazardous chemicals.

Qualifications

Pay

$24 per hour to $26 per hour.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with potential for overtime and weekend work as needed.
