Assistant Coach, Women's Lightweight Rowing - Temporary

About the Role

The Assistant Coach of Women’s Lightweight Rowing supports a quality varsity program that challenges and develops the physical, mental, and personal abilities of rowing student-athletes at Princeton University. This position is temporary.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the recruitment of student-athletes on a national and international level.
• Plan and organize on-campus visits.
• Assist in all aspects of coaching a nationally competitive rowing program, including thorough knowledge of the sport, coaching strategies, and student-athlete development.
• Assist in overall program planning and organization.
• Travel with the team to away competitions and assist with the coordination of team travel.
• Assist and coordinate social media platforms.
• Assist with alumni events and development of Friends Group.
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
• Adhere to IRA, ECAC, and NCAA rules and regulations.
• Work within the framework of the Department of Athletics administration and coaches.
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty, administration, staff, and alumni.
• Uphold the commitment to the Department of Athletics mission and values of Education Through Athletics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent coaching experience.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• First Aid, AED, and CPR certification within four months of hire.
• Proficient with MS Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and databases.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage team dynamics.
• Demonstrated organizational ability for practice and recruiting.
• Understanding of the fundamental role that intercollegiate athletics, properly implemented, can play in the educational development of student-athletes.
• Previous recruiting experience preferred.
• Collegiate playing experience preferred.

Schedule

Nights, weekends, and travel required.

Pay

$22.00 minimum hourly rate.
