About the Role
The Assistant Coach of Women’s Lightweight Rowing supports a quality varsity program that challenges and develops the physical, mental, and personal abilities of rowing student-athletes at Princeton University. This position is temporary.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the recruitment of student-athletes on a national and international level.
- Plan and organize on-campus visits.
- Assist in all aspects of coaching a nationally competitive rowing program, including thorough knowledge of the sport, coaching strategies, and student-athlete development.
- Assist in overall program planning and organization.
- Travel with the team to away competitions and assist with the coordination of team travel.
- Assist and coordinate social media platforms.
- Assist with alumni events and development of Friends Group.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
- Adhere to IRA, ECAC, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Work within the framework of the Department of Athletics administration and coaches.
- Communicate effectively with students, faculty, administration, staff, and alumni.
- Uphold the commitment to the Department of Athletics mission and values of Education Through Athletics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent coaching experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- First Aid, AED, and CPR certification within four months of hire.
- Proficient with MS Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and databases.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage team dynamics.
- Demonstrated organizational ability for practice and recruiting.
- Understanding of the fundamental role that intercollegiate athletics, properly implemented, can play in the educational development of student-athletes.
- Previous recruiting experience preferred.
- Collegiate playing experience preferred.
Schedule
Nights, weekends, and travel required.
Pay
$22.00 minimum hourly rate.
