About the Role
The Assistant Cross Country / Track & Field Coach reports directly to the Head Cross Country / Track & Field Coach and is responsible for assisting in the organization and administration of the cross country / track & field teams in accordance with the rules and regulations of the University, Horizon League, and NCAA. The coach must have a commitment to developing a competitive NCAA Division I cross country / track & field program while maintaining an emphasis on the academic success of the student-athletes. The Assistant Coach will assist in administering the programs in a manner that promotes the health, safety, and welfare of the student-athlete.
- Perform recruiting activities as assigned by the Head Coach, including the evaluation, contact, and ongoing communication with prospective student-athletes and coaches.
- Coordinate and organize recruiting schedules for program personnel.
- Utilize social media in promotion of the team and in the recruitment of potential student-athletes.
- Assist with the arrangement and supervision of transportation, lodging, and meals for team travel for both programs.
- Perform planning, organization, and execution for coaching duties as described and assigned by the Head Coach for all meetings, practice sessions, and competitions.

- Working nights, weekends, and some holidays as required.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Minimum of five years coaching experience.
- Strong consideration will be given to previous cross country / track & field event experience.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Requires regular physical exertion and will be required to work both indoors and outdoors.
