Assistant Coach for Women's Lacrosse

About the role

Responsible for assisting the head coach in the daily operations and overall administration of the women's lacrosse varsity intercollegiate sport program and instruction of student-athletes, within the guidelines, rules, and regulations of The University of Scranton, Landmark Conference, and the NCAA.

Responsibilities

  • Lead training and practice sessions, ensuring that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained.
  • Perform specific coaching and instructional responsibilities during athletic events.
  • Attend coach's preparatory meetings and implement strategies resulting from these meetings.
  • Handle assigned responsibilities within the daily operations and overall administration of the varsity sport program.
  • Develop a comprehensive and functional knowledge of the sport and maintain a thorough and continuing familiarity with all applicable University, Landmark Conference, and NCAA regulations.
  • Scout and recruit quality student-athletes under the guidance and direction of the head coach and coordinate all recruiting activities with the head coach and appropriate departmental personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and intercollegiate playing experience required.
  • Must possess a current state driver's license.
  • The ability to uphold human dignity and respect by recognizing each person's worth, valuing diverse perspectives, and treating others with kindness, fairness, and empathy.
  • Must be able to respect, support, and contribute to the University's Catholic and Jesuit mission.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coaching experience preferred.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Additional hours as required. Full-time, 10-month annual schedule.
