Assistant Coach, Women's Lacrosse

Responsibilities

  • Talent Identification, Recruiting & Admissions Engagement:
    • Identify and recruit talented, academically qualified prospective student-athletes who align with Division III standards and program values.
    • Maintain direct, professional communication with prospects, families, and high school/club coaches.
    • Represent the program at major regional and national recruiting tournaments across the fall, winter, and summer.
    • Manage prospect evaluations, phone logs, emails, and contact records accurately within Teamworks.
    • Partner closely with the Office of Admission to recruit an incoming class commensurate for the institution and program.
    • Conduct early academic reads, targeting a 50%+ conversion rate from early reads to early commitments.
    • Attend the annual IWLCA Convention for professional development and engage with the sport’s national governing body.
  • Program Administration, On-Field Development & Operations:
    • Assist the Head Coach in planning and executing daily practices, game strategy, opponent scouting, and in-season film breakdown.
    • Streamline day-to-day administrative operations using Workday and departmental software.
    • Support athlete retention, holistic growth, academic progress, and the seamless transition of transfer student-athletes.
    • Aid in program fundraising initiatives, clinic operations, alumni relations, and public relations efforts.
  • Game Day Operations & Departmental Support:
    • Lead assigned game-day event management duties, including facility setup/breakdown, crowd control, and student worker supervision.
    • Perform additional administrative tasks and special projects as assigned by the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach and Athletic Director.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-5 years successful experience coaching and recruiting women’s lacrosse at the high school and/or college level.
  • The ability to work effectively with diverse groups and environments.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and public relations skills.
  • Current adult CPR/AED certification;
  • Strong written, oral and organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer software applications.
  • Strong leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • TeamWorks, IWLCA Sports Recruits, Hudl, Google Sheets/Docs/Drive.

Pay

The annual base salary range for this position is $36,000–$40,000.

Schedule

This position is a 10 month annual work period, is expected to be on-site with some travel, and is 35 hours per week.
