Assistant Coach/Baseball

Position Details

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Aids in tryouts for team formation after August 1, but before the beginning of the fall season; and not later than January 15 for the spring season.
• Distributes and collects all baseball equipment and uniforms.
• Conducts a sufficient number of practice sessions each week, with each session lasting approximately one and one-half hours.
• Fulfills safety procedures during coaching.
• Serves as liaison between the Director/Athletics & Recreation and opposing teams.
• Maintains appropriate conduct among team members and personnel at all games and practices.
• Keeps statistics at all games or supervises a statistician as necessary.
• Recruits team members from the college's general student population.
• Recruits team members from area high schools, in accordance with the college's recruitment policy.
• Adheres to all college policies and procedures.
• Performs other assistant coaching duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in a related field desired; recreation/physical education major preferred.
• Previous basketball coaching and/or teaching experience desired.
• Must possess or obtain first-aid/CPR certification.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to perform the essential responsibilities/functions of this position.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand, walk, & sit, sometimes for long periods at a time.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Repetitive hand/finger movement.
• Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, etc.

Salary

$3,599 (seasonal)
