Assistant Baseball Coach
Job Duties
The Assistant Baseball Coach is a full-time twelve-month limited term appointment. This position is responsible for assisting with all facets of planning, organizing, and leading a highly competitive NCAA Division III Baseball program through the recruitment of quality student-athletes and successful coaching of those individuals. This position will report to the Athletic Director.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Organize, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate practice sessions with proper attention to player’s physical and mental well-being.
- Recruit quality student-athletes and retain them as instructed by the head coach.
- Prepare athletes to demonstrate university-level performance during competitive events.
- Promote athletics at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
- Research and implement new findings for refining skills and coaching techniques.
- Adhere to, and remain in compliance with NCAA, WIAC, and UW-Stout rules and regulations.
- Help develop and maintain relationships with alumni, boosters, etc.
- Maintain positive community relationships.
- Maintain rapport with high school athletic programs.
Department
The University of Wisconsin-Stout is a NCAA Division III institution with over 700 student athletes participating in a total of 24 varsity sports and committed to creating an inclusive campus community. UW-Stout is a core member the highly competitive Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).
Compensation
Minimum starting salary of $45,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Two Years of playing and/or coaching experience
- Master’s Degree preferred
- Recruiting Experience preferred
- College playing and/or coaching experience

Employment is contingent upon the final candidate’s completing a criminal background check and being cleared to work by the Human Resources Office.
Employment is also contingent upon the final candidate passing reference checks and an essential job function test, as applicable.
The reference check process includes asking the final candidates’ professional references questions regarding employee misconduct, sexual violence, and sexual harassment.
Reference checks must be conducted at a minimum with three professional references, at least one of which must be a prior supervisor.
