Duties
- Oversee patient care delivery and workflow in the Emergency Department’s operations and environment.
- Directly supervises RN’s, Clinical Associates, department Technicians, Unit Assistants, and Support Staff in all aspects, including hiring/firing, performance evaluation and management, mentoring, scheduling, and addressing employee relations.
- Completing daily or shift specific quality audits and visibility boards.
- Facilitating daily huddles with staff.
- Leading staff/quality meetings.
- Delivering quality patient-centered care in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Rounding with patients and families.
Requirements
- Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience.
- At least (1) year of clinical experience in the area they are applying.
- One (1) year of Charge nurse experience with demonstrated leadership skills preferred and/or equivalent experience.
- Four (4) years of experience in clinical specialty.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of Registered Nursing.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Master's Degree in healthcare-related field preferred.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills to understand and anticipate the impact and opportunities across multiple critical projects.
- Ability to build and establish positive relationships.
- Able to read; write and speak with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Access.
- Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate.
- Able to lift and carry 25-35 lbs. Push/pull 50-100 lbs. (ie. empty bed, stretcher).
Experience
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in California.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); Basic Life Support (BLS); Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCM) - required within 3 months of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Registered Nurse – CA.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Advanced Trauma Course Nursing (ATCN) may also be accepted in lieu of TNCC.
- Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) within 1 year of hire.
Education
- Graduation from an accredited school of Registered Nursing.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Master's Degree in healthcare-related field preferred.
Pay
Pay Range: Minimum $133,827 Midpoint $177,320 Maximum $220,792
Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
