Assistant Clinical Manager (RN) - Ambulatory Hematology and Oncology Clinic - Days

About the role

The Assistant Clinical Manager will oversee operations at VCU Health Chesterfield Pavilion, a new ambulatory surgery center and medical office building scheduled to open in April 2027. The facility will offer a range of services including surgical services, diagnostics, infusion therapy, and pharmacy services.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient flow and coordinates activities and communication during assigned shifts.
• Serves as a resource and leader for patients, staff, health care providers, administration, and other disciplines.
• Ensures efficient, caring, and courteous delivery of patient care.
• Supports culture, process, and optimization of nursing practice to achieve excellence in nursing and Magnet Hospital status.
• Manages an area with high visit volumes, multiple providers, and specialty areas, ensuring efficient clinical workflows and day-to-day staffing.
• Maintains efficient clinic supply chain management and patient engagement.
• Collaborates with leadership to review and advise clinic fiscal needs.

Qualifications

• Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized nursing program.
• Required Licensure: Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible compact state.
• Required Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience with at least one year as an RN.
• Preferred Experience: Charge Nurse or supervisory experience, experience in academic health care, and experience with similar patient populations in ambulatory care settings.
