About the role
The Assistant Bursar is responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with all financial policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Process tuition payments and refunds
- Maintain accurate student financial records
- Oversee accounts receivable and collections
- Prepare financial reports and statements
- Ensure compliance with state and federal financial aid regulations
- Respond to inquiries from students and parents regarding financial matters
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a financial management role
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Strong organizational and attention to detail skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Knowledge of financial aid programs and regulations
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience with financial software such as Banner or similar systems
