General Purpose
Assists in the over site of and provides for overall repair and maintenance of the entire facility, grounds upkeep, and contracted services such as trash, elevator, boiler, HVAC, and window cleaning.
Essential Duties
- Performs repairs and maintenance and ensures cleanliness of the entire facility.
- Affords assistance to the Building/Landscape Maintenance Manager in managing and coordinating contracts and contracted services pertaining to the maintenance of the facility and grounds.
- Ensures grounds maintenance is performed and kept to established standards.
- Oversees operation of mechanical and power equipment utilized in the maintenance of the facility.
- Coordinates exterior property cleaning and maintenance in accordance with company standards.
- Affords assistance to the department manager in interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work. Makes recommendations when hiring, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates. Addresses complaints and resolves problems.
- Affords assistance in the coordination of department members that may include, but is not limited to: Housepersons, Carpenters, Electricians, Maintenance Staff, Plumber, and Security Officer.
- Affords assistance in monitoring business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
- Affords assistance to the manager in communicating any changes or new policies and procedures to the department.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs Other Duties As Required.
Education/Experience
Associates (AA) degree; or one to two years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in managing personnel.
Physical Demands
- Frequently stands, walks and sits;
- Regularity uses hands, reaches with arms and hands, talks and hears;
- Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, pushes, and pulls;
- Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds.
Environment/Noise
- Regularly works in outdoor weather conditions;
- Occasionally works in wet or humid (non-weather) conditions;
- Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles; toxic, or caustic chemicals.
Certificates/Licenses
- Driver’s License may be required.
- Other applicable mechanical/equipment licenses (Boiler, HVAC etc).
