Responsibilities
- Direct all aspects of breeder operations.
- Lead team to ensure proper methods & techniques for optimal health and performance of breeder flocks.
- Assist in training and leading team in proper on-farm management techniques.
- Maintain and adjust breeder flock programs as necessary.
- Monitor flock records and ensure compliance with federal, state & local agencies.
- Aid in recruitment of new growers and maintenance of housing.
- Review weekly settlement reports and investigate grower complaints as needed.
- Oversee pullet chick placement scheduling and AI monitoring.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Animal or Poultry Science or other closely related field.
- 5+ years breeder management experience.
- Excellent knowledge of breeder bird health.
- Excellent communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent travel to assigned farms.
- Frequent lifting of items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Walking in an outside environment, including inclement weather conditions, on a daily basis.
- Subject to dusty and hot environments.
- Frequent exposure to fumes and airborne particles.
- Sometimes exposed to moving mechanical parts.
