Assistant Breeder Manager

Responsibilities

• Direct all aspects of breeder operations.
• Lead team to ensure proper methods & techniques for optimal health and performance of breeder flocks.
• Assist in training and leading team in proper on-farm management techniques.
• Maintain and adjust breeder flock programs as necessary.
• Monitor flock records and ensure compliance with federal, state & local agencies.
• Aid in recruitment of new growers and maintenance of housing.
• Review weekly settlement reports and investigate grower complaints as needed.
• Oversee pullet chick placement scheduling and AI monitoring.
• Perform other duties as directed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Animal or Poultry Science or other closely related field.
• 5+ years breeder management experience.
• Excellent knowledge of breeder bird health.
• Excellent communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent travel to assigned farms.
• Frequent lifting of items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Walking in an outside environment, including inclement weather conditions, on a daily basis.
• Subject to dusty and hot environments.
• Frequent exposure to fumes and airborne particles.
• Sometimes exposed to moving mechanical parts.
