As a member of the Leadership Team, this position is responsible for providing valuable insights, information, ideas, and expert opinions necessary to support the strategic direction and business plan objectives. The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for motivating, empowering, and inspiring staff in a manner consistent with the Credit Union’s Purpose and philosophy, creating a culture where staff understand they are the key to our success and have a personally vested interest in the Credit Union. Under the general direction of the Branch Manager, this role provides supervision, direction, and leadership to all sales and referral staff within the branch by motivating, coaching, and holding them accountable to the goals outlined for the branch. The Assistant Branch Manager provides ongoing technical training as necessary, fosters a team concept throughout the branch, and supports our financial goals. This leader helps guide the team to deliver consistent, high-level service while providing oversight to daily operations, modeling CWCU’s core competencies and Team Leader attributes. Central Willamette Credit Union will match your contributions dollar for dollar up to the first 3% of your gross salary, and 50% of the next 2% of your gross salary Essential Functions And Responsibilities Leadership and Culture (20%) Inspire, motivate, and empower staff to achieve exceptional service and performance goals, modeling CWCU’s values of integrity, respect, compassion, and humor. Act as a role model for accountability, integrity, and professionalism, demonstrating managerial courage by addressing issues directly and providing timely, actionable feedback. Foster open communication and a collaborative, supportive team culture, encouraging open dialogue and valuing diversity of thought. Coaching and Development (20%) Provide actionable coaching and development opportunities for staff, establishing clear objectives and responsibilities. Conduct regular performance evaluations, emphasizing growth, accountability, and continuous improvement. Recognize achievements and address areas needing improvement, rewarding strong performance and dealing effectively with underperformers. Strategic Execution and Critical Thinking (15%) Develop and implement strategies to meet or exceed branch goals, using data and market insights to optimize operations and identify new opportunities. Solve complex challenges with sustainable, data-driven solutions, applying sound decision-making and problem-solving skills. Set clear objectives and measures, monitor progress, and communicate results to the team. Operational Excellence (15%) Maintain high standards for branch organization and compliance, ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements. Provide expertise to resolve member concerns effectively, demonstrating patience and professionalism under pressure. Seek opportunities to optimize efficiency and enhance workflows for ease of use. Sales and Member Engagement (15%) Lead a proactive sales culture to deepen member relationships, advocating for change to benefit employees and members. Drive the branch in surpassing sales and service goals, monitoring product performance and recommending improvements. Establish and maintain effective relationships internally, with members, and community partners. Administrative and Reporting (10%) Prepare performance reports and identify process improvements, demonstrating consistency in the use of tools and systems. Attend training and ensure compliance with internal and external policies, seeking and being receptive to feedback. Perform additional duties as assigned, supporting organizational goals and CWCU values. Community Engagement (5%) Represent the Credit Union at community events, building external relationships and advocating for local initiatives to enhance goodwill and member loyalty. Support and participate in community engagement initiatives sponsored by the Credit Union. Qualifications Strong leadership and development skills to effectively train and motivate staff, including the ability to establish clear objectives and responsibilities for the team. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, tailoring messages to the intended audience. Must be goal-oriented with a strong desire to exceed established expectations and achieve results. Strong desire to market and sell Credit Union products and services. Effectively able to manage multiple projects and work through constant interruptions, prioritizing high-impact activities. Ability to flex schedule to meet the needs of members. High level of computer literacy with full understanding of word processing and spreadsheet software. Working knowledge of current State, Federal, and other regulations applicable to consumer lending and savings. Valid driver's license and automotive insurance required. Education/Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field or equivalent work experience in either business or sales management is required.
