Assistant Branch Manager
About the Role
As an Assistant Branch Manager at W.W. Williams, you will work directly with the Branch Manager on day-to-day operations, including sales, parts, rental, and service, while gaining hands-on leadership experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the business forecast and annual operating plans for the branch.
- Review monthly operating results against forecasts to identify areas of focus and improvement.
- Enforce adherence to company policies to ensure compliance with internal and external safety, environmental, and fiscal standards.
- Participate in establishing long-range goals, objectives, and strategies, and communicate them to branch personnel to motivate achievement.
- Analyze activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine the branch's progress toward divisional and corporate initiatives (e.g., productivity, Wheeltime implementation, technician recruitment and retention).
- Lead related change efforts at the local level.
- Recommend and implement corrective actions or procedural changes based on analysis findings.
- Monitor the success of changes to ensure continuous improvement.
- Resolve escalated customer or employee issues to ensure satisfied and loyal customers and employees.
- Maintain facility and equipment to corporate standards and specifications; negotiate with local providers to keep expenses within budgets.
- Recruit, promote, and hire qualified candidates for open positions at the branch.
- Assist with employee performance, developing individual performance plans for optimal people performance.
- Confer with the Branch Manager and Divisional Leadership to review operational performance and discuss required changes in goals or objectives.
- Promote and build a workplace culture of engagement, growth, development, open communication, and civility.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or three to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Management or leadership experience preferred.
- Ability to identify and implement process efficiencies.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
