Assistant Branch Manager (Oahu)
About the Role
Central Pacific Bank is seeking Assistant Branch Managers for our Oahu locations, with potential assignment in either the Leeward, Windward, or Honolulu area based on business needs. This role leads, coaches, and inspires a team of highly skilled professionals to consistently meet and exceed the financial needs of a designated community, including consumer and local businesses. You will be accountable for achieving sales, service, and profitability goals while ensuring regulatory and legal compliance. The position involves handling administrative and operational tasks related to account management, working on complex assignments, and taking independent action to resolve problems.
You will manage a portfolio of High Value Clients (HVC) to build and retain customer relationships, identify potential banking needs, and open and service all types of consumer and business deposit products. This includes accepting and closing secured and unsecured consumer loans, business loans, and lines of credit, as well as home equity lines of credit and loans. All duties and interactions align with the Company’s Core Values of a “Voyaging Spirit” and being “Positively Ohana.”
Responsibilities
- Accept secured and unsecured consumer loan and personal lines of credit applications; open all types of consumer and business deposit products and related services.
- Profile customers while opening or servicing deposit accounts to determine needs.
- Actively participate in customer retention programs to build and retain relationships and acquire new ones.
- Manage a portfolio of High Value Clients (HVC) to build and retain customer relationships.
- Analyze tax returns and financial statements.
- Participate in branch or bank-wide campaigns.
- Actively cross-sell and refer customers to appropriate business partners.
- Achieve individual and branch goals, including deposit, loan, and portfolio growth, revenue, and risk management targets.
- Manage risk and take prompt action in the event of loss or irregularities in transaction documents, accounts, or company assets.
- Process transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, payments, cash advances, check cashing, stops, cautions, holds, and foreign currency exchange with minimal errors.
- Balance teller cash daily; purchase and sell cash to/from vault; assist in replenishing cash dispensers.
- Meet all service level expectations and ensure a positive customer experience.
- Train and provide guidance to new branch staff.
- Perform all transactional and operational functions, including opening/closing the branch, daily balancing and reconciliation, and acting as vault custodian.
- Assist with training, developing, and managing a strong branch team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (relevant work experience may substitute for the degree requirement).
- 3+ years of branch/bank operations experience and sales of retail financial products.
- 3+ years of experience supervising/leading a sales team.
- 2+ years of experience explaining credit products and accepting/closing loan applications.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including before and after normal work hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) is required prior to performing any duties of a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO), if applicable.
