About the role

The Assistant Branch Manager is a pivotal leadership position responsible for the efficient and compliant operation of the branch. This role oversees day-to-day operations, scheduling, goal achievement, and fosters a positive work environment. The Assistant Branch Manager acts as the point of contact in the branch manager's absence and plays a crucial role in coaching and developing the branch team to ensure success while providing exceptional service to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill Relationship Banker and Senior Relationship Banker duties while setting an example for the team as a working supervisor.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to team members, including regular one-on-one meetings to build relationships and enhance skills.
  • Create development plans for employees to help establish career paths, achieve sales targets, and meet customer service goals.
  • Foster a positive work environment by leading by example and maintaining open communication with team members.
  • Build a network of business contacts and attend community events to increase the bank’s visibility and attract potential customers, contributing directly to business growth and key performance indicators.
  • Refer customers to specialized departments such as mortgage, wealth management, and insurance.
  • Assist in managing branch budgets, controlling expenses, and maximizing profitability.
  • Oversee daily branch operations, including scheduling, audits, and the logistical components of cash handling.
  • Step in for the branch manager during their absence, overseeing critical matters and maintaining branch operations while demonstrating SWARM and other Relationship Banker duties.
  • Engage in community involvement and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma.
  • 5 years of retail banking experience required.
  • 5 years of supervisor experience required in a banking or retail environment with direct oversight of employees.

Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or finance.
  • Certifications or designations obtained in leadership.

Schedule

Hours will vary depending on the assigned location. Consistent weekend availability on Saturdays during the hours of 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM is required.
