Assistant Branch Manager
About the role
We’re looking for a service-oriented, hands-on Assistant Branch Manager to support the daily operations and success of our Fitchburg location. In this role, you’ll help lead a team that delivers outstanding service to our members, ensures operational excellence, and promotes our products and services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the Branch Manager in overseeing daily operations and ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
- Serve as acting manager in the absence of the Branch Manager.
- Foster a positive, team-based culture that emphasizes member service, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Affirmatively engage with members to uncover needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
- Maintain knowledge of the local community and develop relationships with local businesses and organizations.
- Conduct loan interviews and process consumer and mortgage loan applications in collaboration with centralized lending teams.
- Aid members with a wide range of account-related requests, including opening new accounts, funds transfers, debit card inquiries, and more.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of loan applications, disclosures, and closing documentation.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and performance support to staff.
- Assist with scheduling, goal setting, and performance evaluations.
- Promote cross-training and team development to support branch flexibility and resilience.
- Promote compliance by adhering to all BSA and OFAC regulations specific to the job function and assisting the Credit Union’s BSA department as necessary with any departmental function specific items.
- Actively promote the security and privacy of member and employee information through adherence to both information security and physical security policies, procedures, and governing regulations.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of three years working in a bank or credit union environment.
- Minimum of two years of staff supervisory experience.
- Minimum of two years of sales experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written and oral instruction.
- Knowledge of credit union products and services; ability to present information and respond to questions from members of management and credit union members.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Positive, professional attitude; ability to work cooperatively and respectfully with a diverse membership.
- Ability to appear for work as scheduled and to occasionally work outside of normal business hours to provide coverage and/or attend community events, trainings, or conferences.
- Valid, insurable driver's license.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
This role primarily takes place in a professional office environment and involves sedentary work, at a desk or teller station, using a computer, and engaging in phone or video conversations. The noise level is generally moderate. Employees may need to sit or stand for extended periods, move about the office, and occasionally lift, push, pull, or carry items up to 20 pounds. Some repetitive motion including movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Employees are required to have visual acuity to perform activities such as transcribing, viewing and using a computer, and reading documents, as well as the ability to communicate verbally with colleagues, supervisors, members, and visitors. Pay Range
$28 - $32 / hour
