About the role
Join Team MBS—a progressive Midwest Building Products Distributor. As an Assistant Branch Manager, you will support the Branch Manager in overseeing daily operations of our Pittsburgh branch, serving builders and contractors, and providing hands-on customer service and warehouse direction. This role bridges frontline team members with branch management, positioning you for a manager-in-training path.
Responsibilities
- Assist Branch Manager with branch operations, including dispatching, vehicle maintenance, inventory management, customer service training, safety initiatives, and bookkeeping functions
- Lead the customer service team by example, providing exceptional service
- Serve as a backup to the Branch Manager in processing payroll to the corporate office when needed
- Step in to lead the team in the Branch Manager’s absence
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency; a four-year college business degree preferred
- Minimum of three years of progressive work experience in a customer service environment
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to solve problems quickly and effectively
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet Explorer

Schedule
- Monday–Friday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Periodic Saturdays: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM during peak business season
