About the role

Responsible for assisting the Branch Manager in the overall sales and operational success of the credit union branch through coaching of staff and individual production. Expert with presenting to members the benefits and features of our products and services and able to train staff on how to become skilled and successful within this area. Have a thorough understanding of all products and services offered, and able to educate and articulate as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure employees greet and welcome members to the credit union in a courteous, professional and timely manner.
  • Provide prompt, consistent service to champion and deliver exceptional member expectations.
  • Demonstrate exceptional ability to present members with the benefits and features of our products, services, and membership.
  • Able to explain the benefits and features of all credit union products and accurately provide appropriate disclosures and follow up, owning the member relationship.
  • Focus and intention to identify loan and deposit opportunities and provide solutions in order to deepen relationships with each interaction.
  • Lead and motivate branch staff to increase growth and productivity.
  • Maintain excellent operations quality and integrity in the branch.
  • Assure compliance audits are completed accurately, honestly and submitted on time each month.
  • Ensure retention and integrity of departmental records.
  • Supervise staff while involving manager when necessary (i.e. scheduling, coaching, motivating).
  • Actively contributes to the overall growth of the branch through individual lending and deposit activity alongside other staff members.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree with a minimum of two years related experience and/or sales training.
  • Technically savvy, demonstrated consumer lending skills and a minimum of one-year supervisory experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Knowledge of bank operating procedures, practices and policies.

  • Sells GAP, CL&D for loan products.
  • Effectively ensure timely research, follow-up and resolution on escalated member issues within area of responsibility.
  • Effectively provides backup to other branches as needed.
  • Motivates branch staff to increase deposit growth, loan solutions, cross sell and deepen member wallet share.
  • Thorough knowledge of risk management within area of responsibility such as proper identification of counterfeit currency and checks, check negotiability and endorsements, and fraud indicators.
  • Working knowledge of the Credit Union’s posted financial information.
  • Knowledge of complex teller transactions (i.e. check holds, stop payments, wires).
  • Identify activities and complete necessary forms for CTR and SAR reports.
  • Demonstrate ability to make sound decisions regarding fee reversals and overrides within area of responsibility.
  • Effectively open and close branch.
  • Working knowledge of teller functions.
  • Excellent cash handling skills.
  • Active involvement in local volunteerism & Credit Union events.
  • Embraces the credit union movement and support the not-for-profit model in all decisions, protecting the credit union’s tax-exempt status, and the branch’s contribution toward net income.
  • Participate in governmental affairs actions that support this status, occasionally engaging grass roots efforts from members.
  • Works alongside team members and obtain cooperation (internally and/or externally).
  • Interprets general policies, and theories affecting Horizon and its members.

Pay

The full pay range for this position across all the states in which we hire is $22.85-34.27. The figures shown represent the minimum and maximum of the range for this role. Individual offers are made dependent upon a candidate’s experience, education, and skill level.

Schedule

Position requires sound reasoning, good judgement and ability to apply knowledge toward work activities. The noise level is moderate and typical of a normal office environment.
