About the role
As an Assistant Branch Manager, you will partner with an experienced Havertys Manager while being groomed for promotion to Branch Manager and the leadership of your own Havertys Furniture Store. You will deliver world-class service to customers while creating a professional experience for team members by removing obstacles, providing support, and ensuring teams feel empowered. You will sharpen your management leadership skills through selling, coaching, training, merchandising, controlling inventory, and overseeing operations.

- Delight customers by offering personalized design, quality home furnishings, and an outstanding customer experience.
- Represent the Havertys brand through polished communication, personal appearance, and professionalism.
- Demonstrate company values: Customer Focus, Integrity, Quality, Teamwork, and embrace Havertys’ history and heritage.
- Coach, lead, and develop teams to promote a positive and dynamic store environment.
- Promote Havertys’ complimentary design service with a passion for interior design.
- Attract, train, and develop top talent at all levels of the business.
- Support leadership with new initiatives and training.
- Deliver top results with a positive attitude regardless of obstacles.
- Recognize and respond to complex priorities, producing operationally sound results.
- Lead by example to ensure associates feel supported and inspired.
Requirements
- Retail sales management experience.
- College education preferred; High School diploma/GED or equivalent required, or 1-3 years of related experience/training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Passion for sales, creating customer happiness, and building lasting relationships.
- Furniture and interior design experience is a major plus.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to motivate, influence, and inspire yourself and others.
- Computer literacy.
- Enjoyment of details and operational excellence.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Integrity, honesty, and leadership.
- Willingness to work at any Havertys location across the market; ability to relocate is preferred and additional consideration will be given to those willing to relocate within Havertys.
Work Environment

- Required to work 5 days a week, including nights and weekends (store hours: 10 am – 7 pm Monday – Saturday, 12 pm – 6 pm Sunday).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to occasionally lift and move furniture items using team lifting or available tools; some items weigh 150+ pounds.
- Ability to maneuver effectively around the gallery floor, stock room, and office.
- Position entails prolonged standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, and bending.
Pay
Attractive base pay of $60,000 with bonus potential based on branch performance.
