Basic Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education preferred; specialized banking training; valid driver's license.
- Skills: Proficient in English, mathematics, interpersonal relations, communication, customer service, and sales; demonstrated leadership, management, and supervisory abilities; strong organizational and project management skills; problem-solving capability; thorough knowledge of bank products, services, policies, procedures, and federal banking regulations; expertise in branch and teller operations, cash/ATM procedures; proficient PC skills; ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Experience: Minimum three (3) years related experience.
General Responsibilities
Assist Branch Manager in managing branch office to meet customer financial service needs; implement strategies to achieve Retail Banking Division annual operating plan goals; ensure compliance with operating policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements; supervise assigned personnel; communicate with management and staff; provide periodic reports.
Essential Duties
- Branch Management Support:
- Manage sales, branch functions, and business development to achieve growth, customer service excellence, and profitability.
- Enhance Bank image through proactive, customer-driven service exceeding expectations.
- Ensure customer retention and branch growth.
- Maintain proper staffing levels for customer service and sales objectives.
- Train personnel on product knowledge and sales techniques.
- Coach branch team on customer experience, sales goals, and leadership development.
- Actively participate in customer service; generate deposits and loans.
- Ensure operations comply with Bank policies (office balancing, vault cash control, etc.).
- Maintain security, maintenance, safety, and cleanliness; supervise building/vault opening and closing.
- Conduct regular branch self-audits.
- Prepare outgoing wires; place account stops and holds.
- Review branch reports for accuracy; ensure timely submission.
- Establish Customer Information Files and open new accounts.
- Coordinate weekly branch meetings.
- Participate in community organizations and branch events.
- Implement strategies achieving branch goals per Retail Banking Division annual plan; assist in budget development and adherence.
- Comply with laws and policies promoting harassment-free, non-discriminatory workplace.
- Support adherence to internal policies for risk management, safety, soundness, and regulatory compliance (CRA, BSA, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.).
- Personnel Supervision:
- Assist in hiring new personnel.
- Provide orientation and training.
- Review employee performance during probation and regularly thereafter.
- Organize, schedule, and distribute work.
- Communicate pertinent policies and procedures; encourage upward communication.
- Administer personnel policies per Bank standards.
- Communicate with Branch Manager, office managers, and staff to integrate goals and activities.
- Provide periodic reports to Branch Manager and other Bank groups as required.
