Assistant Branch Manager

About the role

Join Consumers Credit Union as an Assistant Branch Manager at our Waukegan location. We are seeking an experienced retail manager who can build a strong team, lead by example, and take ownership to ensure the branch delivers exceptional service to members. In this role, you’ll partner with the Branch Manager to lead the branch to excellence, performing a variety of functions as a banker, concierge, teller, leader, mentor, auditor, and operations expert. You’ll ensure the Branch Specialist team maintains expert knowledge, provides excellent service, and consistently meets CCU's expectations.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching, training, and feedback to Branch Specialists.
• Coordinate activities and schedules.
• Complete management tasks such as delivering Performance Reviews, Development Plans, and Performance Improvement Plans.
• Assist members with opening various types of accounts, resolving escalated service issues, and completing special service requests.
• Oversee and manage branch responsibilities and operational functions, including ATM, ITM, dispatch, vault, ordering currency, regulatory compliance, and conducting audits.
• In the absence of the Branch Manager, assume responsibility for running the branch.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• 2 to 5 years of management experience in a retail environment.
• Financial Services experience (preferred).
• Bilingual in Spanish (required).
• Leadership, people management, mentoring, and coaching skills.
• Service-oriented with professionalism, strong decision-making and judgment skills, and excellent communication skills.

Schedule

Flexibility to work roughly 45 hours per week between the following hours:

• Monday – Thursday: 7:45 am – 5:45 pm
• Friday: 7:45 am – 6:45 pm
• Regular Saturdays: 8:15 am – 1:45 pm

Pay

The salary range for this role is $46,144 - $69,216 per year. This role is eligible for an annual bonus opportunity. A specific salary offer considers factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
