This career-level position is responsible for supervising the operational and sales functions of Team Members with minimal direction, including branch operations, individual Team Member development, and the planning and execution of sales and marketing strategy. The Assistant Branch Manager directs and supports building and implementing branch-level sales and Team Member engagement strategies to achieve assigned goals. This agile leader proactively learns new processes and effectively communicates adjustments in plan, process, and strategy to quickly align Team Members in an ever-changing work environment.

This is an onsite role, 5 days a week, at our branch in St. George, UT. Must be available for Saturdays.

Responsibilities

  • Champion and exhibit AAA’s guiding principles and core values
  • Support the recruiting, training, onboarding, and scheduling of Branch Team Members
  • Champion Team Engagement and Community Impact participation
  • Direct and support Team Member goal setting, performance feedback, training, evaluation, and performance documentation
  • Drive results through direct sales and supervision of the assigned branch to achieve goals
  • Build a performance organization with heart through efficient performance management, setting clear expectations, and addressing performance issues early
  • Pull and distribute sales reports for tracking and performance measurement
  • Assume full managerial responsibility of the branch in the absence of the manager
  • Ensure compliance with AAA policies, procedures, standards, and regulations
  • Coordinate scheduling of facility requests within assigned budgets, including security, office supplies, and building maintenance
  • Apply and enforce AAA conduct and performance policies and implement corrective actions as needed

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Property & Casualty (P&C) License preferred
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience in travel, retail sales, insurance, or service industry
  • Demonstrated experience exceeding individual goals while driving others to exceed goals

  • Highly developed leadership, quantitative, and analytical skills with a data-driven decision approach
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across business units and functions
  • Strong planning and project management skills
  • Strong change management skills and ability to operate in ambiguous environments
  • Broad knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance, membership sales and service, and branch operations, including industry trends and key business revenue drivers
  • Outstanding sales and Member service skills, with the ability to transfer these skills to others
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with the Google Apps Suite (Sheets, Docs, Drive, Slides)

Work Environment

  • Works in an office environment, sitting at a desk, table, or computer workstation for extended periods
  • May travel by car, plane, or other transportation to attend business meetings or conferences
  • Approximately 50-80 percent of the time involves the use of a personal computer
