About the role
Old Republic Surety Company, an industry leader in the surety space, is seeking an Assistant Bond Manager to join our Irvine, CA team. The Assistant Bond Manager will play an integral part in managing and growing the branch's book of business, while cultivating strong relationships with clients and partners.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of direct reports, ensuring they achieve their goals while contributing to their development
- Work closely with branch leadership to make key decisions on performance management, providing feedback and guidance on how to excel in the business
- Train and mentor your team to contribute to a culture that is balanced, appreciative, and nimble
- Assist in the overall management of the branch’s book of business, balancing both strategic growth and risk management
- Underwrite contracts, making informed decisions on all types of bonds, including contract bonds
- Absorb and reject bonds appropriately to ensure the company’s profitability
- Build and maintain relationships with agencies and potential business partners
- Stay updated with industry trends to remain competitive and ahead of the curve
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least five years of progressively responsible managerial experience in underwriting, production, and marketing within the fidelity and surety industry
- Expertise in utilizing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software

- Ability to manage a large territory and connect with clients in person
