• Handle a complex caseload and lead and coordinate investigations and prosecutions with State Police in conjunction with other prosecutors, victim/witness advocates, paralegals, and support staff
• Screen potential cases, foster relationships with industry stakeholders, participate in training, provide occasional district court coverage, and work cohesively with others in the Office of the Attorney General

Requirements

• Member of the Massachusetts bar and a practicing attorney
• At least five (5) years of experience as an attorney, preferably in state criminal practice
• Knowledge of, or ability to gain understanding of, Massachusetts statutes involving money laundering, all aspects of illegal gaming, larceny, domestic violence, and sexual assault is highly desirable, as is trial experience in Superior Court or U.S. District Court
• Ability to handle a large and advanced caseload and comfortable appearing in court
• Ability to conduct long- and short-term investigations, including lengthy grand jury investigations
• Excellent legal writing experience and communication skills
• Self-motivated, team-player, disciplined, ethical, and willing to learn, with the ability to exercise sound judgment in decision-making
• Ability to demonstrate a connection to the people and communities we serve and an interest in supporting a respectful and inclusive work environment
• Valid Massachusetts Driver's License (required, as position requires travel as needed to other areas of the Commonwealth in support of investigations)

Position Details

Position Type: Full-Time/Exempt. Our current hybrid model includes some remote workdays for most positions. On in-office days, employees are required to report to one of our designated office locations, either in Boston or at a regional office. For the first six months in the position, the Assistant Attorney General will be expected to work in office at least three or four days per week.

Location: Based in Boston, MA, with travel as needed to other areas of the Commonwealth.

Salary: $87,500 to $130,595, commensurate with JD year.
