Job Responsibilities
- Performs all legal work relating to Internet crimes against children under limited supervision.
- Advise and assist law enforcement on Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigations.
- Prepare cases for county grand jury consideration and final disposition.
- Seek appropriate resolution of all cases in a timely manner.
- Make court appearances and trial presentations on behalf of the State of South Carolina and the SC Attorney General’s Office.
- Prepare orders and any other necessary documentation to obtain subscriber information from the internet and electronic service providers.
- Afford assistance in training and making presentations to law enforcement agencies, local community groups, schools, or related interest groups on ICAC issues.
- Respond to citizen inquiries.
Requirements
- A juris doctor degree or its equivalent from an accredited law school.
- Five years of experience as a practicing attorney.
- Must be a member and in good standing with the South Carolina Bar.
- Must satisfy Rule 403 requirements.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the laws of South Carolina.
- Knowledge of general case, statutory, and common law.
- Knowledge of judicial and quasi-judicial procedures and rules of guidance.
- Ability to interpret and apply laws in court decisions.
- Ability to analyze facts, evidence, and legal instruments.
- Ability to express conclusions and arguments clearly and logically.
- Ability to plan and direct the activities of a legal staff.
