Position Summary
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is seeking an Assistant Athletic Director to join their Athletics Division. This role focuses on NCAA compliance, revenue generation, and sports administration.
Compliance Key Job Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with department policies and NCAA, WIAC, and affiliated conference rules and regulations.
- Aids in strategic planning for the athletics program.
- Develops, administers, and monitors compliance systems for the athletics program.
- Coordinates and directs coaches on compliance matters related to recruitment, eligibility, and certification of student athletes.
- Serves as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversees and audits the CRM system and compliance reports.
- Maintains knowledge of industry standards for game management and event security, as well as food safety regulations specific to concessions.
- Manages student staff employment and event planning.
Revenue Generation
- Works with the AD and Foundation to manage the Pioneering Forward Athletics Fund and other departmental initiatives.
- Supports fundraising and event planning for all sports programs.
- Collaborates with head coaches to develop and implement fundraising strategies.
Sport Administration
- Manages event logistics for home athletic events and events hosted by the Athletic Department.
- Hires, schedules, and supervises staff for game management positions, event security, and crowd control.
- Oversees student staff employment and provides training and payroll services.
- Maintains knowledge of industry standards for game management and event security, as well as food safety regulations specific to concessions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- 2 years’ experience in higher education or athletics leadership.
