ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE TEACHING PROFESSOR of BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING / UMKC School of Science & Engineering
UMKC School of Science and Engineering, Division of Biological and Biomedical Systems, seeks a full-time ranked non-tenure track Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor in Biomedical Engineering.
About the Division
The Division of Biological and Biomedical Systems (BBS) supports teaching and research in biochemistry, biomedical engineering, structural biology, cell biology, developmental biology, neurobiology, RNA biology, and virology. BBS grants BS, BA, BS/MS, MA, MS, and PhD degrees, including BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Biomedical Engineering.
UMKC is rated R1 by the Carnegie Research Classification and encourages cross-campus and UM System collaboration, with students participating in research at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Biomedical Engineering.
- Stay current with advances in research in the field.
- Mentor students from diverse backgrounds.
- Contribute to service for the University and the field of study.
Requirements
- Ph.D., M.D., D.D.S., or D.V.M. in a relevant field.
- At least two years of postdoctoral experience.
- Potential or demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, and mentoring.
Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in biomaterials, bioimaging, or neurobiology, though other areas will be considered.
