About the role
The Communication Division of the Seaver College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences at Pepperdine University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Public Relations to begin August 1, 2027.
Responsibilities
- Teach several courses within the Public Relations and relevant programs, including Introduction to Public Relations, Public Relations Writing, Public Relations Strategies and Techniques, and other relevant/current topics in Public Relations.
- Teach general media courses, such as Media Writing & Storytelling, Communication Theories and Media Research, is preferred.
- Have meaningful professional experience in the Public Relations industry to inform their teaching and scholarship.
- Mentor and advise majors, co-advise the Public Relations Society of America chapter, oversee the curriculum component of student internships, and participate in the governance and committee work of the Communication Division and Seaver College.
Requirements
- A commitment to excellence as a teacher-scholar.
- A clear research agenda.
- An earned doctorate in Public Relations or a related field by no later than August 1, 2027.
Qualifications
- Documented research.
- Experience of relevant courses.
- Industry experience in the Public Relations field.
Skills
- Ability to teach general media courses.
