Assistant/Associate Professor of Psychology

Essential Responsibilities

• Teach 21 credit hours per academic year (undergraduate and graduate courses)
• Provide comprehensive academic advising
• Actively participate in University, School, and Department committees
• Actively participate in the accreditation process
• Actively participate in program assessment, curriculum development, and grant writing
• Actively develop scholarship (e.g., publications, conference presentations)

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Possess high integrity and ethical standards
• Create and facilitate a meaningful learning environment
• Show willingness to teach a variety of psychology and counseling psychology courses in a diverse educational setting
• Have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Be proficient in using computer software applications (Word, Power Point, Excel, Access, & SPSS) and learning management systems (Canvas) and the internet
• Have advanced project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources
• Meet deadlines
• Interpret data and prepare reports
• Have knowledge and experience in using common office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers

Physical Requirements

• Light work in an office and community setting
• Requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines
• Must be able to lift 20 pounds
• Must have finger dexterity
• Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand
