About the role
The Computer, Electrical, and Software Engineering Department at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Computer Engineering for the 2026-2027 Academic Year. Interest and ability to teach introductory undergraduate computer engineering courses and laboratories is essential, and experience with aviation/aerospace applications is highly desirable. Quality teaching and laboratory instruction is the primary responsibility for this position. Additional responsibilities of the position may include recruitment of students, advising and mentoring undergraduate students, course and program assessment and development, and university/community service.
Responsibilities
- Teach introductory undergraduate computer engineering courses and laboratories
- Conduct research and publish findings in relevant fields
- Advise and mentor undergraduate students
- Participate in curriculum development and assessment
- Engage in university and community service
Requirements
- PhD in Computer Engineering or related field
- Experience with aviation/aerospace applications is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Qualifications
- Doctorate in Computer Engineering or related field
- MS in Computer Engineering or related field with extensive industry experience
- Preferred areas of expertise: Embedded Artificial Intelligence (Embedded AI), Chips Design, Cybersecurity, Micro-controller Board Design, Computer Architecture, Memory Designs, Robotics, and Machine Learning
